Blue Slide Park download. Mac Miller.  Download it here, or iTunes, or go to your local place and scoop up a physical copy.

Either way, the kid Mac Miller is the shit.  His most recent mixtape “Best Day Ever” was sick.  And Blue Slide Park does not disappoint.  Enjoy.

Lupe Fiasco Lasers Leak

Posted: March 4, 2011 in Hip-Hop, music

Lupe Fiasco Lasers leak.  Lupe Fiasco hates leaks and piracy in the music industry, but it happens.  Lasers is due to drop Tuesday March 8th, 2011.  It’s his first album since The Cool came out in 2007.  Unfortunately, Lasers leaked online a few days ago, around the end of February.  It also received negative criticism from some listeners, which also didn’t please Lupe.

Lasers is an acronym:

Love Always Shines Everytime: Remember to Smile

Lasers features John Legend, Skylar Grey, Sway, and Trey Songz.  We’ve already heard “The Show Goes On”, which came out in the end of October 2010.

I  honestly love the album already and I’ve only listened to a few of the songs.  9.5/10.  Very futuristic and fast paced.  Lupe is a beast and can go any speed.  My favorites so far are in RED below, click the RED to listen to them.  Enjoy

1. Letting Go (Feat. Sarah Green)
2. Words I Never Said (Feat. Skylar Grey)
3. Till I Get There
4. I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now (Feat. MDMA)
5. Out Of My Head (Feat. Trey Songz)
6. The Show Goes On
7. Beautiful Lasers, (Two Ways) (Feat. MDMA)
8. Coming up (Feat. MDMA)
9. State Run Radio (Feat. Matt Mahaffey)
10. Break The Chain (Feat. Eric Turner & Sway)
11. All Black Everything
12. Never Forget You (Feat. John Legend)

Wiz Khalifa Mixtapes

Posted: December 17, 2010 in Hip-Hop, music

Wiz Khalifa has been hot this past year, especially thanks to his smash hit “Black and Yellow.”

The success of Khalifa’s mixtape Kush and Orange Juice, which came out in April 2010, also drew massive attention.  The Chuck Taylor wearing 24-year-old Pittsburgh rapper on the rise has ridiculous flow.  On his mixtapes, especially Everything Taylored on Datpiff.com, he goes hard over other people’s beats.

(beat: Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta by the Geto Boys)

Waka Flocka Flame’s House Raided

Waka Flocka Flame’s Georgia house was raided Thursday morning, Dec. 16th.

According to a search warrant obtained by TMZ, police raided the house seeking “marijuana, articles, pictures, and communications relating to gangs and gang paraphernalia.”

According to TMZ, The 24-year-old Atlanta rapper was not in the house at the time of the raid, but fellow rapper Gucci Mane and two other men were.  The two men were arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.  Gucci was cuffed as the police entered, but was not charged with any crimes.  Police reportedly confiscated a submachine gun and a semi-automatic pistol.

Waka Flocka’s mom and manager, Deb Antney was also at the house when police busted in.  Several rumors arose after the incident, some including prostitution.  Antney spoke to MTV News about the incident:

“It had nothing to do with prostitution.  The weapons they found were licensed weapons. There was under an ounce of marijuana, but it was nothing but a blunt. The other drugs were medication that was in Waka’s room from when he got hurt (shot twice in January 2010).”

According to Antney’s words, the raid did not lead to anything serious at all.  This seems like quite an overreaction by the Henry County police if the only charge was “possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.”

A new Lil Wayne song titled 6’7″ ft. Cory Gunz has hit the internet recently and it’s the first single off Tha Carter IV, which is slated for a February 2011 release date.  6’7″ is produced by Bangladesh, the same guy who made the bass bumping “A Milli” from Tha Carter III, so it’s no surprise that two tracks sound strikingly similar beat wise.  Cory Gunz, a Young Money label mate, does his best to keep up with Weezy on the beat, adding a respectable verse.

Bangladesh said he had received offers for the song, but would not accept them until he was able to give Weezy a crack at it.

Lyrically speaking of 6’7″, Bangladesh said Lil Wayne “attacked it as a mixtape” and took it to  a “whole nother level of cleverness” in an MTV.com interview.

6’7″ is Weezy’s most recent hit song since Fire Flame (Remix) with Birdman came out around Nov. 15th.  Fire Flame (Remix) was the first song Weezy got on after being released from Rikers Island.

Top 10 Hip Hop Albums 2010

Posted: December 15, 2010 in Hip-Hop, music

The top 10 hip-hop albums of 2010 don’t raise as much of a debate as the top 10 hip-hop songs of the year.  It’s pretty clear that Eminem (3,000,000+ albums), Drake (447,000 in first week), Kanye West (600,000 and counting), T.I., Lil Wayne, B.O.B., and Rick Ross all deserve to be among the discussion.  The creativity of Nas and Damian Marley earn them a nod on the list.  Hip-hop legends The Roots check in with their 9th studio album making some noise.  Overall, a very solid year across the board for hip-hop fans of all types.
